Malta gibt neben der

2-€-Gemeinschaftsausgabe "10 Jahre EURO", Auflage: wird nachgetragen, Ausgabe: 01.01.2012

eine weitere nationale 2-€-Gedenkmünze heraus. Es ist die zweite aus der Serie "Verfassungsgeschichte":

2011 2 € - 1st elected representatives
2012 2 € - 1887 Majority Representation
2013 2 € - 1921 Self Government
2014 2 € - 50 Years of Independence
2015 2 € - 1974 Republic

Ob Malta darüber hinaus (wie auch für 2011 geplant) einen KMS mit dieser 2CC herausgibt, ist derzeit unbekannt, ebenso, ob es auch wieder eine PP-Ausgabe der 2CC geben wird.

Central Bank of Malta publishes 2012 Coin Programme

The Central Bank of Malta has published its 2012 Coin Programme listing the new coins to be issued during the year. Coins which have already been issued are also referred to in the programme. Details are as follows:

• A €2 commemorative coin celebrating “Ten years of the euro” to be issued in rolls of 25 coins each, on sale from March;

• A gold and silver numismatic coin issued under the Europa Programme 2012 “European Artists” featuring the sculpture ‘Les Gavroches’ (Street Urchins) by Antonio Sciortino, on sale from March;

• A collector’s medal featuring the Grand Master Jean Parisot de La Valette and St. John’s Co-Cathedral. This medal is part of a presentation pack, which includes a DVD on renowned historical sites in Malta issued by the Malta Tourism Authority, on sale from May;

• A Euro Coin Set dated 2012 consisting of the eight Maltese euro circulation coins, a €2 commemorative coin, which is the second in a series of five coins featuring milestones from Malta’s constitutional history (see below) and a replica coin of the Roman period, on sale from June;

• A €2 commemorative coin relating to Malta’s constitutional history bearing the inscription “Majority Representation – 1887” to be issued both in proof quality as well as in rolls of 25 coins each, on sale from September.

Was ist das denn für eine Ausgabepolitik? Ich dachte die 500.000 werden ganz normal in den Umlauf gebracht (zum Nominal natürlich).
Werden die also nur für den Direktverkauf an Sammler geprägt?

Über die Ausgabepolitik der EURO-Länder und hier speziell von Malta wird in vielen Threads diskutiert. Die Länder handhaben das bekanntermaßen unterschiedlich.

Auch über den Begriff "Umlaufmünzen" haben wir vielfach hier und anderswo diskutiert.

Zu Malta nur soviel: Siehe mal im Thread Malta 2011 ... , dann beantwortet sich deine Frage von alleine.

Closing date ist der 20.02. für die 2-€-Rolle "10YEC", für alle anderen Produkte ist es der 12.03.2012. Danach wird informiert, was und wie viel man erhalten wird.

Na dann hoffen wir mal, dass alle Besteller ihre Rollen noch haben möchten, wenn aufgrund der Nachfrage die beantragte Auflage mit 700.000 Stück doch noch voll ausgeprägt wird, und der Wert der Münze gen Nominal fällt.

Wenn irgendein Wackelland für seine Rollen 80 Euro pro Stück + Versand verlangen würde, da wäre der Aufschrei aber groß. Jetzt heißt es (noch...): Danke Malta, dass wir bestellen dürfen.

Und weiß jemand, ob die Münzen auch in den Umlauf gegeben werden (weil sie sogar von der Bank dort nur über Wert verkauft werden)? Ich frage, weil ein Freund im Sommer Urlaub auf Malta macht. Gibt es Erfahrungswerte wie wahrscheinlich es ist maltesische 2 Eur Gedenkmünzen dort zu finden?

Subject	Issue of €2 Coin Commemorating “Ten Years of the Euro”
	On Friday 30 March 2012, the Central Bank of Malta will be issuing the first coin of its 2012 Coin Programme - the €2 coin commemorating ‘’Ten years of the Euro’’. The coin will be issued in circulation quality in rolls of 25 coins each. This commemorative coin will be issued by all euro area countries and will have a common design on the national side of the coin. It was designed by an Austrian mint designer and was selected by an international jury in a competition organised by the ECB. The design symbolises the way in which the euro has established itself as a major currency after ten years of existence. It shows its importance in the lives of the euro area community (represented by the people), in trade (represented by the ship), in industry (represented by the factory) and in energy (represented by the wind power stations). As announced by the Bank on the 3 February the coin will be made available in limited quantities to those who have submitted an order on the Bank’s prescribed form in the period 3 February to 20 February. It will not be available for sale over the counter. The Bank would like to emphasise that, in view of the fact that the number of orders received substantially exceeded the amount of coins that the Bank is permitted to issue, the Bank is not in a position to fully meet all requests submitted in the order forms. The Bank will be contacting all those who placed their orders to inform them of their allocation, the means of payment and the dates on which they will be requested to collect them. Issue of numismatic coin under the Europa Programme 2012 “European Artists” – Antonio Sciortino

On Monday 30 April 2012, the Central Bank of Malta will issue a numismatic coin as part of the Europa Programme ‘European Artists’ commemorating the renowned Maltese sculptor Antonio Sciortino (1879 -1947). This coin will be issued in gold and silver versions with a face value of €50 and €10 respectively. This will be the second coin issued by the Bank in its 2012 Coin Programme.

Antonio Sciortino was born in Malta and at an early age went to continue his art studies in Rome at the Regio Istituto di Belle Arti. He spent much of his life in that city, where he eventually became the Director of the Accademia Britannica. He was strongly influenced by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin, and much of his best works reveals this influence. His favourite medium was bronze.

The coin features Sciortino’s masterpiece ‘Les Gavroches’ (Street Urchins), which was sculptured in 1904 inspired by the poor street urchins in Victor Hugo’s renowned novel ‘Les Miserables’. The bronze statue was placed at the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, but following its restoration in 2003, it was moved to the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta and a replica was placed in its stead. A sculptured model of the ‘Les Gavroches’ statue was presented to Queen Elizabeth II when she visited Malta as a princess in 1951. The model forms part of the Royal Collection at Buckingham Palace.

The distribution of the coins will commence from Monday 30 April 2012. Bank officials will contact all those who placed their orders to inform them of their allocation, the means of payment and the dates on which they will be requested to collect their coins.
