With this newsletter we inform you that the Ministry of Finance - General Accounting Office (G.A.O.) is pleased to announce that the Hellenic Numismatic Programme of 2017 is scheduled to include the issuance of the following products:

I. COMMEMORATIVE CIRCULATION COINS

€2 Commemorative circulation coin dedicated to: “ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF PHILIPPI” (maximum issue 744,000 pieces)

€2 Commemorative circulation coin dedicated to: “60 YEARS IN MEMORIAM OF NIKOS KAZANTZAKIS” (maximum issue 744,000 pieces)


II. COLLECTOR COINS

€200 GOLD COIN DEDICATED TO: “GREEK CULTURE – PHILOSOPHERS – DIOGENES” (maximum issue 1,000 pieces)

€100 MINI GOLD PLUS COIN DEDICATED TO: “GREEK MYTHOLOGY – THE OLYMPIAN GODS – ATHENA” (maximum issue 1,200 pieces)

€50 MINI GOLD COIN DEDICATED TO: “CULTURAL HERITAGE – MINOAN CIVILISATION” (maximum issue 1,500 pieces)

€10 SILVER COIN DEDICATED TO: “GREEK CULTURE – PHILOSOPHERS – DIOGENES” (maximum issue 2,000 pieces)

€10 SILVER COIN DEDICATED TO: “GREEK CULTURE – LYRIC POETS – SAPPHO” (maximum issue 2,000 pieces)

€6 MINI SILVER COIN DEDICATED TO: “INTERNATIONAL YEAR OF SUSTAINABLE TOURISM FOR DEVELOPMENT” (maximum issue 1,500 pieces)

Viele hier beschweren sich zwar mittlerweile über die Ausgabenflut an 2€ Gedenkmünzen und haben die Münzen aus ihrer Sammlung gestrichen, ich aber freue mich über 2 neue Ausgaben aus Griechenland. Vor allem die erste Ausgabe klingt vielversprechend, zudem die Griechen bisher schöne Motive und gute Qualität geliefert haben!

EUROPA STAR PROGRAM 2017 – 2020

We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Finance has announced on December 12th, 2016 that Greece will join in 2017 the “EUROPA STAR PROGRAM 2017 – 2020” issuing 5,000 silver collector coins with the nominal value of €10. The theme Refers to “The age of Iron and Glass.

Material: Ag 92.5%
Diameter: 38.61mm
Weight: 31.10 gr
Edge: Plain
Packaging: Leatherette box with authenticity certificate
Retail price: about €48 (plus VAT)

According to the volume of sale orders a scale of discount will be offered which will be announced in due time.

PARTICIPATION AT THE WORLD MONEY FAIR 2017

Our country will hold a kiosk at the World Money Fair (E22) from 3-5/2/2017.

DISPENSATION OF THE €10 SILVER COLLECTOR COIN
DEDICATED TO: “EUROPA STAR 2017 - THE AGE OF IRON AND GLASS”

With this newsletter we inform you that the Ministry of Finance - General Accounting Office (G.A.O.) is pleased to announce that authorises the Bank of Greece to dispense to the public the €10 silver collector coins dedicated to: “EUROPA STAR 2017 - THE AGE OF IRON AND GLASS”.

• The date of release is set to be the 16/3/2017.
• The maximum mintage is 5,000 coins.
• The selling price is 48.39€ per coin (plus V.A.T.).
