Hier möchte ich die heute (!!!) erschienene Bahrain 100 Fils Münze 2004 vorstellen.

Thema: anlässlich des ersten F1 Grandprix in Bahrain gab die BMA (Bahrain Monetary Agency) diese 100 Fils Münze im Folder heraus.

Es gibt auch eine Medaille mit denselben Spezifikationen (lose).

BMA issues F1 commemorative coin, medal

The Bahrain Monetary Agency (BMA) has issued a new medal and a coin, to commemorate the Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix, scheduled to be held from2 nd to4 th April2004 .

A silver medal and a special100 fils "uncirculated" commemorative coin have been minted to mark Bahrain’s debut on the Formula One international motor racing calendar.

The coin bears the words ‘1st Bahrain Grand Prix2004 ’, along with the logo of the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and ‘Kingdom of Bahrain’.

The other side of the coin bears its denomination. The size and weight of the special coin is the same as that of an ordinary100 fils coin, which weighs 6 grams and has a diameter of24 mm and thickness of1 .9mm.

A total of30 , 000F 1coins have been minted. They are available in a presentation pack.

The commemorative medal bears the words ‘Kingdom of Bahrain’, as well as the Kingdom’s crest embossed on a background resembling the chequered flag, which is traditionally waved as winners cross the finish line.

The other side of the medal bears an image of the VIP Sakhir Tower at the BIC, along with the Bahrain Grand Prix date ‘04.04.04’.

The silver medal is of99 .9% purity, with a circular band of gold plating on both sides. It weighs 31 grams and has a diameter of36 mm and thickness of2 mm.

A total of 500 medals have been minted. They come in a presentation box and can purchased from BMA’s Currency Issue Directorate, at a cost of BD 25each.

"The upcoming F 1Grand Prix in Bahrain is a major event in Bahrain’s contemporary history. It is also a sporting precedent not just for Bahrain but for the region," said Mr. Farid Jassim Zubari, Director, Currency Issue, at the BMA.

"The BMA is proud to be part of the unprecedented national effort to make the upcoming event a memorable one."

This is the24 th issue of commemorative coins and medals to be made by the BMA.
