Hallo zusammen,
ich habe vor einiger Zeit ein Silberlot erstanden, und unter anderem war eine Virgin Islands Münze von 2011 dabei. Hier ist eine zweite (und zwar die einzige, die ich bisher gefunden habe) als Buyout zu haben.

Da auch bei Numista oder in Katalogen nichts zu finden war, und ich mich nicht auf die Angaben des o.g. Verkäufers verlassen wollte, habe ich die Pobjoy Mint angeschrieben. Nachdem sie geantwortet haben, dass sie wenige Informationen haben, schrieb ich:

Well, everything you can share would help me a lot to categorize it. First of all, it is good to know that this is an official coin of your mint. Is there any "proof" you can give, like basic information on your website that it actually exists, or a link to a leaflet or advertisement or something else?
Further, I'd like to know some basic things and I hope you can tell me something about it:
1. The silver content - is it .925 like the other 10$ you made so far?
2. What is the official "name" or commemorative issue that you gave it?"
und bekam die Antwort:
"Hi,
Thank you for the message. I am sorry to let you know that we do not have any of this information available as we just produced the coin for a private client and therefore did not do any of the marketing. In order to get this information you would need to contact a third party. If you would like any information about any of our other coins then we would be more than happy to help.
Kind regards"
Irgendwie verstehe ich das jetzt nicht ganz... die Münze ist eine offizielle Münze, zu der man aber keine Aussagen machen kann oder will. Hat jemand von euch irgendwelche Infos über diese Münze? Ich finde das Verhalten ziemlich eigenartig, muss ich sagen. Aber wenigstens weiß ich jetzt, dass es eine offizielle Münze ist - eben nur nicht, was für eine...
