kleine meldung: ab 1.Juni(vermutlich) wird es neue rumänische Münzen geben.
Der Umrechnungskurs wird 1€=ca. 4 Lei betragen
heute steht er bei ca. 1€=ca. 41000 Lei

hier die Meldung:

Special 20c coin to be launched

A 20c coin with special links to Rotorua will be officially launched this month, 14 years after it went into circulation.

The coin, featuring the Ngati Whakaue leader Pukaki, was inadvertently released in 1990 and in 2002 without his descendants being consulted.

An agreement has since been reached, and a ceremony will be held at the Rotorua District Council buildings on October 30.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to withdraw all 5, 10 and 20-paise coins from circulation.

Those who will exchange the coins will be paid an equivalent amount in higher denominations.

Small coins, now rarely used in any transaction, are on the verge of becoming antiques. Even beggars are choosers when they are offered small coins.

Shopkeepers refuse to take them, calling them achal paisa (useless). Bus conductors even allow a free journey when confronted with them, while priests at temples refuse with folded hands to accept them as pranami (offerings).

Altercations between shopkeepers and consumers, and between bus conductors and passengers, over small coins are not too infrequent.

“Lakkhir bhare rekhe din (Keep them in the piggy bank),” is the advice often heard from bus conductors and owners of roadside stalls.

RBI assistant manager Ashis Chattopadhyay said on Wednesday: “We have decided to withdraw small coins from circulation to stop all confusion and controversy.’’

He asserted: “We are flooded with complaints from various people on non-acceptance of coins by traders and shopkeepers. We want to make it clear that the RBI has never cancelled any coin and the traders are bound to accept whatever is offered to them.”

“We have sent notices to all trade associations, asking them to accept small coins. Many people, to avoid any unpleasantness, do not want to force traders to accept the coins. We want to put an end to this,” said Chattopadhyay.

The RBI assistant manager has drawn up an action-plan to collect small coins. Individuals will get sufficient time to get the coins exchanged.

“A counter was opened last week at the RBI for exchanging the coins. Besides, we are planning to set up camps at various markets, government offices and departmental stores after the Pujas to collect the coins. We are also planning to open special counters at select nationalised banks,” he added.

The project will initially run in the city and will later be extended to other urban areas.

According to a rough estimate by the RBI, there are more than five million coins doing the rounds in Calcutta.

Zu der Münze wird's m.E. auch kein (neues) Bild geben. So wie ich die Nachricht verstanden habe, handelt es sich um dieses vor knapp 15 Jahren erstmals herausgegebene 20-Cent-Stück:

Bimetallmünzen aus Indien

Hallo!

Noch ein paar Infos zum neuen KMS aus Indien:

Bi-metallics from India

India has decided to redesign its entire circulation coinage. The new designs have been prepared by the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, which is a premier design institute of the nation. As per terms of contract, these coins belong to the same family in terms of having similar visual and tactical clues bearing conceptual coherence rather than being completely individual. The designs are more contemporary and disabled-friendly. The design cover various points which include how the visually-handicapped and arthritic as well as automatic vending and coin-operated machines use the coins. The set has 5 coins which are of denomination of 50 Paise, 1 Rupee, 2 Rupees, 5 Rupees and 10 Rupees. The 10 Rupees denomination is being coined for the first time since modern times. The lowest three denominations will be ferratic stainless steel whereas the two highest denominations will be a bi-metallic mix of ferratic stainless steel and nickel bronze.

Die Rückseite der 2 Rand-Münze zeigt als Motiv die größte einheimische Eulenart, den Milchuhu / Blassuhu (Bubo lacteus), die 2½ Cent-Silbermünze das Bild der kleinsten einheimischen Eulenart, nämlich das des Perlkauzes (Glaucidium perlatum).

Durchmesser: R2 = 38,70 mm, 2 1/2c = 16,30 mm
Gewicht: R2 = 33,626 g, 2 1/2c = 1,414 g
Legierung: Ag 925 / Cu 75

Ich suche Scans dieser beiden Münzen.

$1 Münze aus Mikronesien!!!???

Wie im Extrathread bereits angesprochen kommt diese Münze aus Mikronesien (unter US Verwaltung stehend, also gesetzl. Z.mittel: der US$).

Sie soll eine auflage von nur 1,000 Stück haben und ist nach den Anbietern schw...äh sauteuer!

wie bei den CocosInselnfragen wir uns, ob diese münze tatsächlich offiziellen Zahlungscharakter hat oder wieder mal nur ne Medaille-Abzocke ist!!!???

Sieht irgendwie sehr nach der gleichen Machart wie das Bi-Metall Stück der Cocos Keeling aus.
