An official Euro coin set (KMS) is the official combination of all circulating coins of a country and year of issue – from 1 cent to 2 euros – in high-quality packaging. The 2-euro commemorative coins of the respective year are often included as well.
The coins usually have a brilliant uncirculated or Proof finish and come in attractive blister packs or high-quality boxes. Many coin sets are issued for special occasions and contain additional information and illustrations relating to the issue.
As individual countries do not mint all circulating coins for circulation every year, certain denominations are often available exclusively in official coin sets – making them particularly sought after by collectors.
